The Envy Crew all hope you enjoyed a fabulous time with family and friends over the Xmas period. We certainly did! Check out some of the pics from our Xmas celebrations @ The Spirit House.

2010 saw the team work very hard to double the 'Envy Experience' across the coast, with the opening of our Mooloolaba store. It proved to be a fabulously successful addition, thanks to the hard work of our beloved team members and loyal customers. Thanks so much to you all. We could not have done it without you!

 

Lucky Legs Eleven @ Envy is set to include loads more EnvyGreatness as well as much, Much, MUCH MORE!

Cafe envy now in Mooloolaba!

It's true! Envy has expanded and you can now enjoy the envy experience in Mooloolaba aswell as Cotton Tree. Nic and Chad have been busy as a couple of bees in spring, racing from hive to flower, flower to hive and back again creating a beautiful space in which you can feed your soul.

Artist: Sarah Jane Smith

Our wall has been filled by yet another local talent. Sarah hung her work on Tuesday for us all to peruse at our leisure. Pop in for a close up.

Artist’s bio:

SARAH JANE SMITH is a local Sunshine Coast photographer. Having traveled around the world over the past 16 years she brings with her a collection of beautiful, uplifting images crafted from real-life experiences and influences.

Sarah has just launched her new website (www.sarahjanesmith.com.au) showcasing distinctive images, from landscapes and weddings to major events, such as the Coolum Kite Festival where she was the official photographer.

Having studied and worked in the graphic design and photography industry for the past 20 years, Sarah has honed her creative skills into an individual style that reflects her passion for photography and also the subjects within them. She strongly believes that it is not
simply about taking a photograph, but creating an art piece.

Sarah draws upon her traditional developing techniques combined with a digital workflow and production. She looks to past masters such as Ansel Adams for his work’s great tonal qualities to Impressionist painters such as Monet for their atmospheric and emotional interpretations for inspiration.

Sarah is also available for weddings and commissions.

Artist: Danielle Starling

Artist Statement:

As a woman, there is a certain feeling you get when you are dressed up. From the right dress to the right shoes, you are suddenly filled with a sense of your own femininity. You walk taller, more gracefully and are imbibed with a delicate sense of what it really is to be a woman. The vintage images of 1950’s women in dresses and high heels used in my work are synonymous to many women with a time when we dressed up every day. Using delicate papers, including pattern paper, to create and reflect this same feeling of femininity, I layer my prints in order to hide and reveal certain images, creating depth, contrast and interest. My work is meant to reflect the beauty that lies in the femininity of women and inspire them to their own sense of what that means for them. To help recreate the feeling of that perfect dress and a beautiful pair of shoes.

We have some new friends at Envy, hand made lamps designed and created by a local designer. They're for sale so you can have them in your home, pop in and check them out.

Amanda has always been interested in graphic design, and photography. Well travelled and easily inspired, her preference is for third world countries that reinforce her philosophy of indulging in the simple pleasures that living life simply can bring. Amanda has accumulated diverse skills and interests on her adventures, including traditional jewellery making techniques from Tibetan craftsman. Her current exploration utilising lamps and recycled materials enable her to bring all her passions to bear. With all pieces being made of 95% recycled materials, Amanda is committed to a vision of the future where contemporary jetsom is continually being recycled and reinvented into new forms. Where character and history take precedence over the thrill of shiny and new. Her pieces are practical yet nostalgic, acknowledging the source and revealing its hidden potential. Coaxing old treasures back out in to the light.
