CLAIRE WILLOUGHBY

After spending some months writing songs in the forests of Byron Bay, Claire is back home on the Sunshine Coast filled with fresh inspiration and fresh material. She’s performing her unique style of rhythmic guitar and urban vocals, at CafĂ© Envy Unplugged on Friday August 17th.
Claire Willoughby launched onto the local scene in 2011 performing her original material at local Open Mic nights.  Her raw talent and truly unique style which bridges the gap between many genres, infusing sumptuous, folky melodies with funked out, hip-hop inspired poetics was quickly noticed by music fans and those in the industry.  In no time Claire’s solo performances were in high demand, she was included in the line up for the 2011 Caloundra Music Festival and is returning to Festival again this year, performing at the Spirit Stage.
Audiences can expect a mix of soul warming love songs and politically charged anthems that provoke listeners to engage in issues close to Claire’s heart. An accomplished guitarist who’s love for the instrument grew into a love of music, Claire promises a performance that will linger in the hearts and minds of her audiences for days.
